Your Raleigh, NC Wedding Photographer

I was born in Kenya

I was born and raised in Nairobi Kenya, in East Africa. I moved to North Carolina in when I was 10, and have been living here since then. I visited Kenya for the first time since my arrival in NC, in 2019 and I plan on making it an annual trip to see family and get more in touch with my roots and family.

I was in the AFJROTC program in High School

I went to Sanderson High School where I joined the ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) while I was a freshman, and was active in the program all four years in High School. I got to learn so much in ROTC, it was the only class that taught budgeting, the value of good habits, respect for others, and of course, marching..we did a lot of marching lol I was blessed to be taught by Sgt. Susan Croom and Lt. Bob penny and met lifelong friends through the years.

I have a five year old son

The first time I held him in my arms, my life changed. The UNC birth center in Chapel Hill, NC was the first time I got to hold my son, Kaiden. Becoming a father changed my life in so many ways. Responsibilities were added, parties and destructive behaviors were subtracted, gray hairs appeared, and a purpose was found. Raising him has been a blast and he has taught me more about life than any other person has. The day I got to hold him in my arms, I knew I had to do better, and raising him has provided me with so many life lessons and blessings. I love him with all my heart.

My first camera

It was a Canon Powershot sx530 hs. I got it for Christmas of 2018, and I haven’t looked back since. I started with photos of my wife and son. I really didn’t fall in love with photography until midway through 2019, when my wife and I separated. Life was tough, lonely, and seemed hopeless. Going out with my camera everyday and walking around for hours taking photos of nature really brought me back from a dark place and it is where this passion for photography came from. July of 2019 was when photography gave me the other purpose in my life. Since that time in July, my camera became like a second pair of pants..I just didn’t leave home without it. I have upgraded the camera a couple of times and now I shoot with a Sony a7III whoop whoop! I can’t wait to see where this journey with photography will take me.

Why Family and Weddings?

I love people! I love meeting new people, being able to capture the little moments between a mother and her young child, or the intimate moments between a bride and groom, is what I live for! delivering images that will not only let you look at the past but also allow the person to step back into the memory is my mission and what better way to do that than photographing families and weddings?
