Just a blurry photo of me and my son looking over the Blue Ridge Parkway. This lil guy is the reason why I am so passionate about my work. I had a full-time job that was killing my spirit for life and didn’t give me the opportunity to spend quality time with my son. Finding photography, let me realize that there was something in this world that I can be great at, and would also allow me to enjoy life with MY family. As a father and photographer, appreciating the little moments like this one above through images has become so important to me, and I would like for you to have the same feeling when you see the images that we have captured together.
From Kenya to North Carolina, photography with a different perspective

I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya which is in North Eastern part of Africa. My mom and I, landed in RDU Airport when I was just a kid, so North Carolina has been my adopted home for the past 20 years. I found photography in late 2018, and I have been hooked ever since. Some of my gallery is my earlier work with models and entrepreneurs around the Raleigh area, but I have found my calling with Family and Wedding photography. Providing a fun experience and delivering memories through photos is what I was made for. Getting the kids to calm down even if it’s for 20 seconds, getting the whole family comfy and confident to be in front of the camera, and finally getting those smiles and laughs by any means necessary.
I am a unique individual, so the name had to be unique as well, Kion, short for Kiongozi, means “Leader” in Swahili. Just as in “The Lion King, “ the term “Simba” means “Lion.” Leading your little pride to fun times and a great vibe!
Preferring to keep things real, capturing every moment as it happens - encapsulating you and your loved ones’ unique personality and bringing your vision for your memory to life. That’s the Kion Creative Experience.
