Being an Engagement photographer in Raleigh, I love finding new and beautiful spots for my couples. When Caroline and Ivan asked me to find a spot that was not only magnificent but also kayak accessible, I got to work and began the search. I stumbled onto a secret spot within Jordan Lake’s 14,000 acres that smashed it out of the park!

Located west of Cary and south of Durham, Jordan Lake State Recreation Area is a picturesque 14,000 acre reservoir that includes over 1,000 campsites, and seven swimming beaches. It boasts almost 14 miles of hikeable trails, as well as boating ramps for those weekend trips to the water. Here are some pictures that show you why you should have your engagement session at Jordan Lake.

So.. why have an engagement session at Jordan Lake? The scenery is beyond beautiful. With seven swim beaches, it ticks all the marks for the water lovers, as well as the myriad of trails to get the adventurer inside of you excited to explore its many secret spots. The last reason i can give to have your engagement session at Jordan Lake, is privacy. Jordan Lake and its “secret spots” offer light foot traffic so you’re not always stopping to let hikers walk by or waiting for a group to finish with their photos to get to yours. I got another chance to go to the “secret spot” when Kay and Kaygan wanted a calm and relaxing location to get some golden hour photos for their engagement session.

If you’re looking for an engagement session and Jordan Lake sounds like the spot for you, then i would love to hear from you! I’m ready to guide you and your fiancé on the Jordan Lake adventure! Let me know when you want the adventure to be
